Breastfeeding Survey

What is this research project about?

The purpose of this research project is to learn about breastfeeding support experiences in women who have birthed Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander babies. Participation in this project involves doing an online survey that will take you approximately 15 minutes.

The survey questions will be about:

  • Your experiences with breastfeeding.

  • The types of breastfeeding support you might have used.

  • What you thought the breastfeeding support you received.

  • What kinds of breastfeeding support you would have liked to receive.

Who can participate?

Women who:

  • are over 18 years of age,

  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander

  • Have given birth in the last 5 years, and

  • Live in or around the Tamworth region (Gomeroi/Kamilaroi lands)

Why are we doing this research?

We want to find out if women birthing Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander babies want and/or need more help for breastfeeding.

What is the benefit in participating in this research?

We can use the results of this survey as evidence to begin developing culturally safe ways to support women to continue breastfeeding for longer! You will also be given a $20 gift voucher for your time.
